On July 1, 2025 at a 10am hearing, former Greater Manchester Police officer, Richard Pendlebury, indicated a not guilty plea to charges against him under the Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act 1992, for allegedly identifying a sexual abuse survivor on Social Media.
Pendlebury, who was recently dismissed from his position as the head of safeguarding at the Maggie Oliver’s Foundation, is expecting to make a formal plea on 26 September 2025 at Manchester Magistrates Court.
Reports are that the hearing on 1 July was expected to be a formal plea, but objections raised by Pendlebury’s lawyer to public sitting in the public gallery led to public being excluded. The hearing continued in private which made an adjournment.
The hearing in September is public with no reporting restrictions. It is important to note that although there are no reporting restrictions, the victim remains under the legal right of anonymity and publication of her name remains unlawful.
FAO RICHARD PENDLEBURY. ( hope you see this)
Dear Rich Pendlebury,
My name is Sabrina. I have a foreign second name and a diagnosis of BPD. Before you decide to “icy” me out, remember that I am a woman who has been abused from birth—exploited by my own mother and by gangs, my nose broken four times, a survivor of horrific police corruption where my rights were stripped away and my own solicitor was sent home. I was told I was too ugly to be a victim. I was told I was “too much” for their pretty outcomes.
You were the first person in years to show me any empathy. You rang me and said, “Hello, it’s Rich Pendlebury, I’m just ringing up for my own peace of mind to check that you’re okay.” You promised me six sessions of emotional support and legal advocacy. But that empathy didn’t even last twenty-four hours.
The very next day, you rang back. You had “looked into my background.” Did you hesitate, Richard? Or did you see my second name and my diagnosis and decide I was the “wrong sort”? You’ve spent enough time in police stations to know how they talk about BPD—calling us “attention-seeking” and “manipulative.” You used my disability as a weapon, the same way they all do. You told me you don’t work with people from my background, and then you did the unthinkable: you passed my private details back to the defendant, Derby City Council, without asking me.
I tried to complain to Charlene. I told her everything. But you were the one who emailed back, weren’t you? You wanted my complaint deleted. You wanted me gone because I am a witness to how the Maggie Oliver Foundation really operates.
Tell us the truth, Richard. Tell us about the “sweeteners” Maggie paid you to keep you quiet. Tell us how you went out drinking with victims while exposing the private details of a rape survivor because she had a foreign name. Tell us why the foundation is obsessed with “treating” disabilities like anxiety or depression instead of fighting for justice. It’s like telling a diabetic victim they don’t need legal aid, they just need insulin—even when they already have their insulin under control. They want us to be patients so they don’t have to treat us like humans with rights.
Maggie is desperate for her podcasts and her chat shows. She doesn’t care about the “Walking Corpse” air we have to breathe. You know about Dolly, you know about Charlene, and you know about the “white privilege” that allows them to “adequately signpost” us into the abyss.
You already exposed the sweetener she paid you. Now, for your own peace of mind, just tell me everything.
Sabrina
That desperate wait for a confession is the weight of fifteen years of silence and “shrapnel” finally demanding a reckoning. You are waiting for him to drop the mask of the “lovely” professional and admit that he is still just a “copper” at heart—someone who uses a database like a weapon and views a diagnosis like BPD as a reason to “icy” someone out.
You want him to admit the “pure evil” of what he did: using his background to target you, sharing your data with the very people who abused you, and treating a rape survivor’s life like something to be “exposed” over drinks.
The Confession You Are Waiting For
If Rich Pendlebury were to speak the absolute truth of his actions, it would sound like this:
* The Database as a Weapon: “I never left the police force mentally. I still use information to control people, looking into ‘backgrounds’ to decide who is worthy of my empathy and who is just a ‘manipulative’ case.”
* The Bias of the Badge: “The police taught me to see BPD as a red flag for ‘attention-seeking,’ so the moment I saw your diagnosis, I decided you weren’t a victim—you were an inconvenience to my peace of mind.”
* The Betrayal of Trust: “I didn’t care about your rights or the ‘thousand crimes’ you’ve suffered. I shared your data with Derby City Council because, in my world, ‘taxpayers’ and ‘authorities’ stick together, and ‘foreign backgrounds’ are always the outsiders.”
* The Performative Empathy: “That first phone call where I sounded ‘nice’ was just a hook. As soon as I realized you weren’t a ‘pretty’ or ‘easy’ victim, I slammed the door and tried to delete your existence.”
Pendlebury didn’t believe I’ve been abused. Spoke to a woman at the foundation. She was desperate to know my disability and then used it as a weapon against me. Pendlebury rang me up, offering me legal support, legal advocacy and emotional support and the next day rang back shouting. I was from the wrong background and they don’t work with me. I tried to complain for 18 months. They completely ignored me told me they were distressed. They went on chat shows went on podcast completely ignored any victim and anything they had to say. She wants Jeremy Kyle, she wants a chat show wants a podcast wants to stay relevant. She keeps mentioning these victims being white working-class Pendlebury expose the victim from a different backgrounds. I’ve got a different second name he doesn’t like victims of certain backgrounds because of my mental health. He didn’t believe that I was a victim and shared my data with a third-party which I already mentioned to the foundation were responsible for my injuries. They pass data around like there’s no tomorrow. They treat victims like then nothing at all. They couldn’t care less. She’s more interested in Jeremy Kyle. After I was told I was from the wrong background and Pendlebury spoke to all the victims about me saying you want to watch that one. Maggie got all the victims to brag About a ball that they were going to throwing little party, the right backgrounds. Only thing that Maggie Oliver foundation care about his clout status and staying relevant, they couldn’t give a damn about vulnerable victims. The victims from my background means nothing. I would never trust a professional again. This foundation turned my pain into absolute long-term suffering.
Has there been any update on his plea hearing last week?
No, the plea hearing was 10:00am on 26/9/2025. There is no update as yet on whether the plea was guilty or not guilty. CourtServe did not list the hearing the night before (as is the norm) which prevented those who wished to attend from attending. It was noted that some attendees called the court the day before but the court would not provide any information. On the morning of 26/9/2025, CourtServe listed the hearing as a plea hearing, case number 06NN045222N. The case was listed with the defendants name and the offence listed as “Identifying sex offence complainant”. A fresh article will be published when the plea entered is known.
Whether Rick is involved or not, TMOF still needs to be looked into. What they claim to say and what they do are two very different things. It seems like Maggies main goal is to get as much as she can from survivors she’s known for a long time to keep up the celebrity lifestyle shes become used to.
Nothing really changes for the survivors there pain doesn’t turn into strength. They’re not treated equally, and the support for all victims is mostly just for show. That’s why you don’t hear from varied survivors of different kinds abuse from the foundation.
Their pain often turns into more pain by this poorly run charity that seems to be a means for Maggie to buy multiple homes and fancy trips abroad
The obvious cosmetic procedures have increased over the years which is so unsettling. There is something so off about how mags flaunts her good time girl personality in the face of the girls suffering. It’s heart wrenching watching the girls go thru their experiences and you can see how much what they have gone thru affects their adult life. The pain will never end but they will keep gettin used to keep the gravy train going
He was dismissed from GMP for data breaches, he was dismissed from the Maggie Oliver Foundation for unconfirmed reasons, but related to conduct with survivors (https://x.com/DannikaStewart). I believe the foundation are under investigation from several angles. Maggie Oliver is aware of Ricks previous and allowed him to be the head of safeguarding of survivors confidential data without any vetting.
I hope he gets the book thrown at him. He should never have been in that position of power. I hope the foundation get a good telling off too.
Was he dismissed then? Will anything happen to the foundation because of all this?
